Columbus Catholic girls basketball clinches second place in Cloverbelt East with win at Gilman

GILMAN – The Marshfield Columbus Catholic girls basketball team extended its winning streak to seven and secured a second-place finish in the Cloverbelt Conference East Division with a dominating 60-40 win over Gilman on Tuesday at Gilman High School.

The Dons ran out to a 34-11 lead by halftime and was able to finish off the victory, improving to 14-8 overall and 10-3 in the Cloverbelt East.

Hailey Klumb scored 20 points, Jenna Kibbel added 12, and Hailey Zimmermann chipped in 10 points for the Dons.

Danielle Mann had 16 points to lead Gilman (13-7, 9-5 Cloverbelt East).

Columbus Catholic hit 60 points for just the second time this season, with the other coming in a 65-47 win over Gilman on Dec. 19.

The Dons will finish their Cloverbelt East schedule Friday at Loyal.
