Marshfield boys hockey defeats Wausau East/Merrill in WVC finale

MERRILL – Tyler Reissmann netted a hat trick and the Marshfield boys hockey team finished its Wisconsin Valley Conference schedule with a 6-2 win over Wausau East/Merrill on Tuesday at the Merrill Area Recreation Center.

Reissmann scored just 48 seconds into the game, and added a goal late in the second period and midway through the third to help lift the Tigers to the victory.

Marshfield is now 12-11 overall and finishes the WVC season with a 3-7 record.

Noah Peterson, Nick Spencer and Tommy Cashmer also scored goals for the Tigers.

Cole Halvorsen only had to make seven saves in goal as Marshfield outshot East/Merrill 35-9.

Marshfield finishes its regular season schedule Thursday at Baldwin-Woodville and begins the WIAA playoffs Tuesday, Feb. 14, at Wausau West.
