Auburndale boys basketball thumps Edgar to finish regular season

EDGAR – The Auburndale boys basketball team finished off its regular-season and Marawood Conference South Division schedule with a dominant 53-27 win over Edgar on Friday at Edgar High School.

The Eagles rolled out to a 28-17 by halftime and held Edgar to just 10 points in the second half to finish off the 26-point victory, their 21st of the season.

Alex Willfahrt had 11 points, and Evan Scholl and Mason White Eagle each chipped in eight points for Auburndale (21-3, 13-3 Marawood South).

Brett Baumgartner led Edgar (9-14, 6-10 Marawood South) with 10 points.

Auburndale will open the playoffs with a WIAA Division 4 regional semifinal at home next Friday, March 3, against the winner of Tuesday’s game between Montello and Princeton/Green Lake.
