Columbus Catholic boys basketball outruns Fall Creek to win Cloverbelt crossover second-place game

OSSEO – The Marshfield Columbus Catholic boys basketball team finished off its regular-season schedule with an impressive 87-82 win over Fall Creek in the second-place game of the Cloverbelt Conference crossovers on Saturday afternoon at Osseo-Fairchild High School.

Emmitt Konieczny and Blake Jakobi each drained four 3-pointers as the Dons went 13-for-25 from deep in the victory.

Konieczny finished with 28 points and 11 assists, Jakobi added 24 points and five rebounds, and Lucas Kreklau chipped in 14 points for Columbus Catholic, which finishes the regular season with a 17-7 record. Fall Creek falls to 20-4.

Columbus Catholic will open postseason play with a WIAA Division 5 regional quarterfinal at home against Wisconsin Valley Lutheran on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
