Spencer softball drops road game at Nekoosa

NEKOOSA – Nekoosa scored 10 times in the second inning to power past Spencer 17-2 in a nonconference softball game Monday at Nekoosa High School.

The Rockets scored twice in the top of the first inning on RBIs from Sam Soback and Hailey Rucker, before Nekoosa rallied.

The Papermakers scored once in the first, 10 times in the second and added six more in the third to finish off the game via the 15-run rule after three innings.

Nekoosa had only three hits as three Spencer pitchers combined for 16 walks.

Ema Schultz had a single and a triple for Spencer, which falls to 0-4.

Spencer is scheduled to play Rib Lake at Wisconsin Rapids Lincoln High School on Tuesday, weather permitting.
