SAUK PRAIRIE – The Marshfield boys golf team opened its 2023 season with a 12th-place finish at the 18-team Sauk Prairie Boys Golf Invitational on Tuesday at Lake Wisconsin Country Club.
Janesville Craigt had three top-10 finishes and won the team title with a score of 321, two shots better than Chippewa Falls McDonell/Eau Claire Regis. Marshfield was 12th with a score of 373.
Kyle Berres tied for 25th place with an 88, and Maxx Oertel, Tyler Hieman and Ethan Schnitzler all tied for 46th with 95s for Marshfield. Graydon Anderson rounded out the Tigers’ entries with a 109.
Charlie Erlandson of Madison Memorial shot a sizzling 3-under par 70 to win meet medalist honors by nine strokes.
Marshfield’s next schedule meet is a quadrangular along with D.C. Everest, Wisconsin Rapids and Stevens Point on Tuesday, April 11, at the Ridges Golf Course in Wisconsin Rapids.
