Spencer baseball roughs up Stanley-Boyd

WISCONSIN RAPIDS – The Spencer baseball team scored 10 times in the first two innings and rolled to a 14-2 nonconference win over Stanley-Boyd on Monday at Wisconsin Rapids Lincoln High School.

The Rockets chased Stanley-Boyd’s starting pitcher after four walks and two hits led to four runs in the first inning.

Spencer put up six more in the second and scored four times in the fourth to finish off the game after five via the 10-run rule.

Reed Knecht picked up the win for the Rockets (2-1), striking out four in four innings. He also had two hits and scored twice.

Tyler Peterson, Connor Bacon and Nathan Rucker also had two hits each for Spencer, with Bacon, Kaiden Miller and Madden Prybylski each driving in two runs.

Spencer plays another nonconference game at Pittsville on Tuesday before opening its Cloverbelt Conference East Division schedule at Owen-Withee on Friday.
