Seven-run fifth inning pushes Blair-Taylor past Stratford softball

BLAIR – Blair-Taylor used a seven-run fifth inning to turn a two-run deficit into a 10-6 win over Stratford in a nonconference softball game Monday at Blair-Taylor High School.

Stratford led 5-0 after scoring four times in the third inning and once in the fourth.

The Wildcats responded with three runs in the bottom of the fourth and then poured on seven runs in the fifth to take command and went on for the victory.

Emma Roeper had two doubles and two RBI, Tria Tubbs had a pair of singles and an RBI, and Gracie Schmidt had a two-run triple for the Tigers, who fall to 6-4 this season.

Stratford plays a Marawood Conference South Division game at Marathon on Tuesday.
