Auburndale softball grabs road win at Newman Catholic

WAUSAU – Mya Krings had three hits, including a home run, and drove in a pair to help lead the Auburndale softball team to an 8-5 win over Wausau Newman Catholic on Thursday at Sunnyvale Park.

Ashlyn Grimm added two hits and two RBI, and Taylor Anderson had a single and two batted in as well for the Eagles, who are now 8-2 overall and 4-2 in the Marawood Conference South Division.

Samantha Stanton earned the win for Auburndale, allowing three runs in 4 1/3 innings. Grimm picked up the save, throwing the final 2 1/3 innings with three strikeouts.

Auburndale’s next game is Tuesday at Stratford.
