MERRILL – Kyle Berres tied for second place with a seven-over par 79 to lead the Marshfield boys golf team to its second-straight second-place finish at the third leg of the Wisconsin Valley Conference Boys Golf Tournament on Friday at Merrill Public Golf Course.
Wausau East earned its first win the conference tournament with a score of 327 as Sawyer Krambs was meet medalist with a 77 and Cooper Bjerke tied Berres for second.
Marshfield was second with a 339 and remains in third place in the overall standings, which is led by Wisconsin Rapids.
Ethan Schnitzler tied for 12th place with an 85, Maxx Oertel tied for 14th with an 87, Tyler Heiman shot an 88, and Keegan Fredrick had a 94 to round out Marshfield’s scoring.
The fourth leg of the seven-meet tournament will be held Tuesday at Trapp River Golf Course in Wausau.
