Auburndale wins two events at Colby Track & Field Invitational

COLBY – Auburndale won two events and had both teams finish in the lower half of the team standings at the nine-team Colby Track & Field Invitational on Tuesday at Colby High School.

Mason White Eagle won the boys high jump with a leap of 6 feet, and the girls 400 relay team of Denver Korslin, Shea Fabisiak, Molly Jewell and Olivia Smrz won in 54.45 seconds for Auburndale’s two victories.

Antigo won the girls team title with 116 points, just one point ahead of Medford. Auburndale was seventh with 43 points.

The Auburndale boys managed to finish one spot better, taking sixth with 69 points. Stanley-Boyd won the boys title with 160 points.

Adam Dorshorst was second in the boys discus (129-10) and shot put (43-1), and Lucas Yeske took second in the triple jump (39-2½) for Auburndale.

The Eagles had a pair of third-place finishes in girls events as Korslin was third in the high jump (4-8) and Fabisiak was third in the long jump (14-8¼).

Auburndale will compete at the Marawood Conference Track & Field Meet on Monday at Stratford.
