Columbus Catholic baseball hands Neillsville first conference loss

MARSHFIELD – Blake Jakobi allowed just one run over five innings as the Marshfield Columbus Catholic baseball team handed Neillsville its first Cloverbelt Conference East Division loss, winning 7-1 on Wednesday at Jack Hackman Field.

Jakobi struck out four and walked one, while Emmitt Konieczny tossed a pair of shutout innings to finish off the victory for the Dons (6-6, 5-2 Cloverbelt East).

Konieczny also added three hits, Grant Olson drove in two runs, and Nathan Nemitz had two hits and an RBI for Columbus Catholic.
