MARSHFIELD – Danielle Minsaas, Aubri Brown and Luke LeMoine each won two individual events as Marshfield swept the team titles at its home five-team Marshfield Track & Field Invitational on Friday at Heiting Community Stadium.
The Marshfield girls won 11 events to rack up 277 points to easily win the team title. Mosinee was second with 141, Spencer fourth with 40 and Columbus Catholic fifth with 26.
The Marshfield boys won seven events and finished with 248 points, 80 more than Medford. Columbus Catholic was fourth with 79 and Spencer fifth with 74.
Minsaas won the high jump with a new school record leap of 5 feet, 4 inches, breaking the record of 5-3 she shared with Carlin McClary (1978). Her high jump performance is also a new Heiting Stadium record. Minsaas also won the 100-meter hurdles in 16.64 seconds.
Brown continued her dominance in the weight throwing events, winning the discus (127-11) and shot put (37-7¾) for Marshfield.
Other winners for the Marshfield girls were: Natalie Scharenbroch in the 800 (2:26.72), Casey Dasler in the pole vault (9-6), Ashley Grancorvitz in the triple jump (33-7¼), Olivia Page in the 200 (27.16), Michaela Dick in the 300 hurdles (46.29), and the 800 relay (1:47.11), 400 relay (51.96) and 3,200 relay (10:30.05). Dick’s hurdles win also set a new Heiting Stadium record.
LeMoine won the boys long jump (21-3¾) and the 300 hurdles (41.37) to lead the Marshfield boys.
Trevor Foemmel took first in the 110 hurdles (16.24) and finished second in the 300 hurdles (41.87) and discus (113-5), Vaughn Kolbeck won the 100 (11.98) and was second in the pole vault (12-6), and Noah Peterson won the shot put (46-4) as well for the Marshfield boys.
Marshfield also won the boys 800 (1:33.87) and 1,600 (3:45.77) relays.
Columbus Catholic’s Isaac Scheer was also a double-winner. He won the 1,600 (4:38.68) and the 3,200 (10:10.02) for the Dons. Cal Birkhauser also grabbed a win for the Dons, taking firs tin the 400 (53.54).
Spencer’s lone win came from Autumn Davis in the girls 400 (1:04.61). She also took second in the 200 (28.63).
The Spencer boys had runner-up finishes from Kyle Nieman in the 110 hurdles (16.79) and Elliott Bauer in the 100 (12.02).
Marshfield will compete at the Wisconsin Valley Conference Meet on Tuesday at Wisconsin Rapids. Spencer and Marshfield Columbus Catholic will be at the Cloverbelt Conference Meet at Gilman on Tuesday.
