Marshfield baseball drops road game at Wausau East

WAUSAU – The Marshfield baseball team committed 10 errors that led to five unearned runs and the Tigers lost to Wausau East 5-1 in a Wisconsin Valley Conference game Thursday at East High School.

Marshfield’s lone run came in the fourth inning as Braxton Kurth singled home Judd Higgins. The Tigers were held to just three hits.

Carson Matis was the losing pitcher for the Tigers. He went the distance, striking out four without a walk and not allowing an earned run.

Marshfield (9-10, 5-5 WVC) hosts a nonconference doubleheader against Hudson on Friday beginning at 4 p.m. at Jack Hackman Field.
