NEW RICHMOND – The Marshfield softball team’s season came to an end with a 2-0 loss to New Richmond in a WIAA Division 1 regional semifinal on Tuesday at New Richmond High School.
Katelyn Sternweis struck out six and walked two, allowing single runs in the third and fifth innings, to suffer the loss for Marshfield, which ends its season on a 13-game losing streak and finishes with an 8-16 record.
Kennedy Joachim tossed a five-hit shutout for New Richmond (12-6), which moves on to a regional final at Chippewa Falls (20-5) on Thursday.
Brier Blietz had two hits and drove in both runs for New Richmond.
