ANTIGO – The Marshfield Junior Legion baseball team overcame eight errors and nine walks to defeat Superior 7-6 in its first game at the Antigo Junior Legion Tournament on Friday night.
Marshfield scored seven times in the first three innings and were able to hold on despite the shaky defense and pitching.
Marshfield pitchers Caleb Schaefer and Jakob Sadowska managed to hold Superior to just three hits, but combined for nine walks and only one of the six runs they allowed was earned.
Madden Prybylski had two hits and scored twice, and Schaefer had two hits as well for Marshfield.
Marshfield will play Fond du Lac at 4:30 p.m. Saturday as the three-day tournament continues.
