PLOVER – The Marshfield Junior Legion baseball team split a doubleheader at Memorial Field on Monday night, losing Game 1 to Plover 5-3 before rebounding with a 10-3 victory in the second game.
Chris Pohl took the loss in the opener for Marshfield, throwing a complete game and allowing five hits and three walks, with one strikeout.
Jakob Sadowski had a hit and two RBI, and Bryce Schade had two hits in the loss for Marshfield.
The Junior Devils responded in Game 2, using eight hits, nine walks and four Plover errors to roll to the win.
Ethan Soweija went the distance on the mound for Marshfield, earning the win as he allowed four hits and three walks.
Sadowska and Tyler Kumm each had two hits and three RBI, and Caleb Schaefer and Zack Roehrborn both scored twice for Marshfield.
Marshfield (7-11) will play at Wausau on Tuesday at 5 p.m., with the Senior Legion teams to play after at 8 p.m. at Athletic Park.
