RHINELANDER – The Spencer volleyball team began its 2023 season with three three-set sweeps at the Rhinelander Quad on Tuesday at the Hodag Dome.
Spencer defeated Rhinelander 27-25, 25-16; Chetek-Weyerhauser 25-16, 25-12; and Hurley 25-16, 25-16, to finish the tournament a perfect 3-0.
Hannah Reckner had 11 kills and nine service aces, Shelby Frisch had 17 assists and 14 digs, Hannah Reckner had 12 assists and 16 digs, and Alexa Stange had a team-high 26 digs for Spencer.
Spencer hosts Northland Lutheran for a nonconference match Thursday at 7:15 p.m.
