Columbus Catholic volleyball sweeps Stratford

MARSHFIELD – The Marshfield Columbus Catholic volleyball team opened its home schedule with a 3-0 sweep of Stratford in a nonconference matchup Thursday night at Columbus Catholic High School.

The Dons won 25-19, 25-19, 25-18.

Courtney Sommer had 15 assists, 10 digs, seven kills, five blocks and two aces to lead the way for Columbus Catholic.

Aaliyah Krenn and Emma Dolgner each had seven kills, Mattea Schalfke had six kills, nine digs and three aces, Izzy Hoglund also had nine digs and three aces, and Alayna Egle chipped in nine assists in the win for the Dons.

Kalyn Schueller and Kenzie Novotny each had nine kills, Emma Roeper had 11 digs, and Emerson Roy had 29 assists for Stratford.

Ashley Hollatz and Schueller also had nine digs each, and Tria Tubbs had five kills as well for the Tigers.

Both teams will compete at the Auburndale Invitational on Saturday.
