Columbus Catholic volleyball rolls past Loyal in Cloverbelt East opener

LOYAL – The Marshfield Columbus Catholic volleyball team won its Cloverbelt Conference East Division opener on Tuesday night, sweeping Loyal 3-0 at Loyal High School.

The Dons won in convincing fashion, 25-11, 25-17, 25-10.

Aaliyah Krenn had 10 kills, Courtney Sommer added eight kills, nine digs, 17 assists and six aces, and Alayna Egle had 17 assists for the Dons.

Izzy Hoglund had a team-best 13 digs, Shelby Spata had seven kills, Delia Trader had seven digs, and Mattea Schlafke chipped in six kills and six digs for Columbus.

“We keep playing so well as a team,” Columbus coach Kat Egle said. “The setters spread the ball around to all of our hitters and our serving was spectacular. The girls continue to work hard and encourage each other.”

Columbus Catholic will play at the Chippewa Falls McDonell Invitational on Saturday.
