WISCONSIN RAPIDS – The Auburndale girls volleyball team won the first two sets but couldn’t close out its match with Wisconsin Rapids Assumption and lost 3-2 on Tuesday night at Assumption High School.
Assumption won 17-25, 22-25, 25-12, 25-9, 15-8, to improve to 2-1 in the Marawood Conference South Division. Auburndale falls to 0-3.
Lily Bellanti had 11 kills and 17 digs, Maggie Baltus had 22 digs, and Chesney Nagel finished with a team-high 23 assists for Auburndale.
Sidney Wolff added 10 kills and 10 digs for the Eagles.
Auburndale will have a week off before playing a Marawood South match at home against Marathon next Tuesday, Sept. 26.
