Marshfield girls tennis sweeps Chippewa Falls, loses to Wausau West

MARSHFIELD – The Marshfield girls tennis finished off a win over Chippewa Falls on Monday and dropped a Wisconsin Valley Conference match to first-place Wausau West on Tuesday, both at the Boson Tennis Complex.

Marshfield finished up a suspended match from Sept. 11 and swept Chippewa Falls 7-0 on Monday in a nonconference matchup. The Tigers lost 6-1 to West, which finishes the WVC dual meet season with at a perfect 6-0.

Ashley Grancorvitz remains undefeated at No. 4 singles, picking up the Tigers’ only win against West.

Marshfield hosts Merrill for its final Wisconsin Valley Conference dual meet of the season on Thursday at 4 p.m. The Tigers finish up their regular-season schedule at home against Medford on Sept. 25. The Wisconsin Valley Conference Tournament will be Sept. 28 at Wausau East.
