Columbus Catholic volleyball rolls past Owen-Withee

MARSHFIELD – The Marshfield Columbus Catholic volleyball team, ranked No. 1 in the latest Wisconsin Volleyball Coaches Association Division 4 state poll, swept Owen-Withee 3-0 on Tuesday night at Columbus Catholic High School.

The Dons dominated, winning 25-11, 25-15, 25-19, to improve to 2-0 in the Cloverbelt Conference East Division. Owen-Withee is now 1-1.

Aaliyah Krenn had 10 kills, seven digs and three service aces, Courtney Sommer added 11 digs, 19 assists and seven kills, and Alayna Egle had 10 assists and three aces for the Dons.

Izzy Hoglund added 12 digs, Shelby Spata had eight digs and six kills, and Mattea Schalfke had four kills, eight digs and three aces in the win for Columbus Catholic.

“It was youth night last night and the fans brought some great energy,” Columbus coach Kat Egle said. “Thank you everyone that came out and watched.”

Columbus Catholic plays another Cloverbelt East match Thursday at Neillsville.
