TOMAH – The Marshfield girls golf team is moving on to sectionals after winning the title at a WIAA Division 1 Regional on Wednesday at Hiawatha Golf Course.
Marshfield and Holmen tied for first place with scores of 359, with the Tigers winning a two-hole playoff to earn the regional championship. Tomah (381) and Wisconsin Rapids (410) earned the other two automatic sectional berths.
The top four individuals not on the four qualifying teams also move on to the Division 1 sectional, which will be Tuesday, Oct. 3, at Wild Ridge Golf Course in Eau Claire.
Marshfield junior Brielle Lenz finished second after shooting an 83 in the 18-hole tournament. Jayeanna Palm of Holmen was the individual regional champion with an 82.
Lili Anaya had a 91, McKenzie Holm shot a 92, Shylah Brogam had a 93 and Lexxi Oertel had a 99 as well for Marshfield.
