GRESHAM – Alex Edwards had a hat trick and six other Marshfield Columbus Catholic players scored as the Dons routed Gresham/Bowler 10-0 in a Central Wisconsin Conference boys soccer game Thursday at Gresham Community High School.

Alex Edwards had three goals in the opening 17½ minutes to help the Dons built an 8-0 lead by halftime.

Cy Becker, Charlie Moore, Xan Rodriguez, Jack Kohlbeck, Brady Zimmermann and Ray Becker added goals for Columbus Catholic, which is now 13-2-2 overall and a perfect 8-0 in the Central Wisconsin Conference. The goals for Kohlbeck and Ray Becker are their first career varsity goals.

Alex Edwards also had three assists, and Mason Edwards, Nathan Nemitz and Moore also had assists in the win for the Dons.

Columbus Catholic will be back in action Tuesday at Griese Park against Northland Lutheran starting at 4:30 p.m. The game is a make-up of a matchup originally scheduled for Sept. 25 that was postponed due to wet grounds at Griese Park.
