Columbus Catholic soccer shuts out Northland Lutheran, clinches no worse than share of CWC title

MARSHFIELD – The Marshfield Columbus Catholic soccer team clinched at least a tie for the Central Wisconsin Conference title with a 7-0 shutout of Northland Lutheran on Tuesday at Griese Park.

The Dons outshot Northland Lutheran 22-3 in the dominating victory.

Alex Edwards had a hat trick, Charlie Moore scored twice, and Jaylee Garneau and Xan Rodriguez added goals for Columbus Catholic, which is now 14-2-2 overall and 9-0 in the CWC. The Dons hold a three-game lead over Amherst with three games remaining in the conference season.

Cade Jansen had two assists and Lucas Kreklau saved the only shot he saw in goal for the Dons.

Columbus Catholic hosts Stevens Point Pacelli/Iola-Scandinavia at 4:30 p.m. Thursday at Griese Park for Senior Night.
