AUBURNDALE – Marshfield Columbus Catholic junior Isaac Scheer posted another win and his brother Nathan Scheer had a seventh-place finish for the Dons at the Auburndale Cross Country Invitational on Tuesday at Auburndale High School.
Isaac Scheer won the boys 5-kilometer race in 16:55, 11 seconds ahead of Phillips’ Gavin Esterholm. Stratford’s Cree DeFoe was third in 17:26.
Phillips won the both team titles, with the Stratford girls finishing second and the boys team taking third.
Nathan Scheer was seventh in the boys race in 18:18 to help the Dons to a fourth-place finish.
The Auburndale girls took third and boys sixth, the Spencer girls were fifth and boys ninth, and the Columbus girls were fourth.
Leah Harper of Phillips won the girls race in 20:13.
The Stratford girls had four top-10 finishes, led by Kayla Casperson, who was fifth in 21:33. Breleigh Skaya was sixth in 21:57, Kressa Wenzel was eighth in 22:07 and Samantha Mielke was 10th in 22:45.
Spencer’s top runners were Isaac Howlett, who was 35th in the boys race in 21:03, and Addison Knecht, who took 33rd in the girls race in 26:33.
Auburndale’s Sawyer Cherney took 30th in 20:31 and Hope Schulte topped the Eagles’ girls with an 11th-place finish in 23:01.
