MERRILL – The Marshfield volleyball team bounced back from suffering its first loss of the Wisconsin Valley Conference season with a dominating 3-0 sweep of Merrill on Tuesday night at Merrill High School.

The Tigers rolled 25-11, 25-14, 25-9, to improve to 10-1 in the WVC.

D.C. Everest finished its conference slate with a 3-0 sweep of Wisconsin Rapids on Tuesday. Marshfield can share the conference championship with D.C. Everest if it defeats Wausau East at home on Thursday. It would mark the third time in the past four years that Everest and Marshfield have shared the Wisconsin Valley Conference title. Marshfield won it outright last season.

Kailyn Kurth had 30 assists, Ashlyn Barwick had nine digs, Abby Ongna had 12 kills, and Lauren Homolka had 10 kills, three service aces and five block kills for Marshfield.

Casey Dasler added seven digs and Alyssa Foemmel had eight kills as well for Marshfield.
