GREEN BAY – The 2023 WIAA State Boys & Girls Volleyball Tournaments concluded Saturday with boys and girls championship matches at the Resch Center.
In Division 4, Wonewoc-Center won its first-ever state title with a come-from-behind 3-2 win over Wausau Newman Catholic.
The Division 3 also went five sets with St. Croix Falls knocking off four-time defending state champion Howards Grove 3-2. The state title is St. Croix Falls first as well after finishing as the runner-up last year to Howards Grove.
Xavier captured its second-straight Division 2 title with a 3-0 sweep of McFarland, which was also the runner-up in 2019 and 2021.
Milwaukee Divine Savior Holy Angels also repeated, taking the Division 1 title match with a tight 3-2 win over Oconomowoc in a rematch of last year’s D-1 championship. The title is DSHA’s fifth to go along with championships in 2001, 2014, 2015 and 2022.
