Spencer girls basketball snags overtime win at Prentice

PRENTICE – Spencer’s Autumn Davis hit a 3-pointer at the buzzer to send the game to overtime and the Rockets outscored Prentice by a point in the extra period to earn a 55-54 victory in a nonconference girls basketball game Tuesday night at Prentice High School.

Davis finished with 29 points, including 18 after halftime. She made two free throw attempts and Hannah Schreiner had a basket for the Rockets in overtime as they held a 4-3 advantage to pull out the victory.

Claudia Krause added 10 points, eight in the second half, and Schreiner finished with seven points for Spencer.

Kali Heikkinen scored 30 points for Prentice.

Spencer will return to action after that Thanksgiving holiday, hosting Edgar for its home opener on Monday, Nov. 27.
