Stratford girls basketball doubles up Marathon

MARATHON – Stratford rolled out to a 15-point halftime lead and cruised to a 42-21 win over Marathon in its season and Marawood Conference South Division girls basketball opener Tuesday night at Marathon High School.

Stratford led 20-5 at halftime and outscored the Raiders (0-3, 0-2 Marawood South) by six in the second half to finish off the victory.

Tri Tubbs scored 13 points and Kayla Casperson added 10 for the Tigers, who made 17 of 29 free throws in the win.

Stratford plays a nonconference game at Poynette on Monday.
