Stevens Point shuts out Marshfield boys hockey in WVC opener

MARSHFIELD – Jackson Schroeder had a hat trick for Stevens Point, which overwhelmed Marshfield 10-0 in the Wisconsin Valley Conference boys hockey opener on Thursday at the Marshfield Ice Arena.

Schroeder scored twice in the first five minutes and added another goal in the Panthers’ five-goal first period.

Marshfield had just 12 shots on goal, all saved by Stevens Point goalie Mason Spurlin.

Marshfield (2-3 overall) returns to action Tuesday at Wausau West.
