MARSHFIELD – After 33 Seasons, Marshfield High School will have a new face leading their volleyball program.
The Marshfield High School athletic department provided a statement Tuesday:
Head varsity volleyball coach Dawn Sadowska announced her retirement at the end of the 2023 season. Her career started in 1991 at Marshfield High School, before ninth-grade students were being taught in the current high school building. During her time as the head coach, Sadowska’s teams compiled a 847-360 win-loss record, won 13 Wisconsin Valley Conference titles, including four straight to end her career in 2020, 2021, 2022, and 2023. Her teams won 18 regional titles and appeared at the WIAA State Tournament seven times in nine seasons between 1998-2006.
Coach Sadowska had a profound impact on the program, as well as the program on her.
“I could never have imagined the experiences and relationships that becoming the head coach of the Marshfield volleyball program would provide me over the last 33 years,” Sadowska stated. “I have had the opportunity to coach some amazing young women who made a tremendous impact on both our program and me. I am proud that my coaching staff has not varied much over the years; I have worked alongside very committed and knowledgeable coaches who are just as responsible as myself for the success of our program.”
“We thank Coach Sadowska for her years of commitment, service, and leadership. Her passion for volleyball, our student-athletes, and pure competition will be missed within our program and department,” the Marshfield High School athletic department said in a statement.
Marshfield High School is currently seeking their next head coach to lead the volleyball program. Interested applicants can apply online on WECAN. The deadline to apply is Dec. 10.
