Spencer boys basketball drops home game to undefeated Thorp

SPENCER – Logan Hanson hit five 3-pointers and scored a game-high 27 points to lead Thorp to a 66-48 win over Spencer in a nonconference boys basketball game Monday night at Spencer High School.

The Cardinals (4-0) ran out to a 12-point lead by halftime at 34-22 and held on throughout the final 18 minutes to earn the victory and stay undefeated.

Sam Bezlyk had 21 points and Davide Chemello added 11 for Spencer, which falls to 1-2.

Brady Stewart chipped in 21 points and 11 rebounds for Thorp.

Spencer will open its Cloverbelt Conference East Division schedule at Marshfield Columbus Catholic on Thursday at 7:15 p.m.
