Hot start pushes Wausau West past Marshfield boys hockey

WAUSAU – Wausau West scored four goals in the first period and added five more in the second as it cruised past Marshfield 9-1 in a Wisconsin Valley Conference boys hockey game Tuesday at the Marathon Park Ice Arena.

Caden Bohlin had a hat track and assisted on two of the first-period goals for the Warriors (3-3, 2-0 WVC).

Brody Brimacombe scored twice and added an assist for Wausau West.

Marshfield’s lone goal came from Tanner Shortt in the final minute of the first period.

Marshfield (2-4, 0-2 Wisconsin Valley Conference) returns to the rink Thursday with a nonconference game at Oshkosh.
