Loyal outlasts Spencer boys basketball

SPENCER – Loyal pulled away in the second half to earn a 57-49 victory over Spencer in a Cloverbelt Conference East Division boys basketball game Tuesday night at Spencer High School.

The Rockets led 26-25 at halftime, but couldn’t hold on and dropped their second-straight conference game.

Sam Bezlyk finished with a double-double, piling up 21 points and 17 rebounds for Spencer, which falls to 1-4 overall and 0-2 in the Cloverbelt East.

Cain Toufar had 18 points and Reed Stieglitz scored 16 for Loyal (1-4, 1-1 Cloverbelt East).

Spencer hosts Abbotsford for a nonconference game Thursday.
