Bezlyk’s two free throws in final seconds push Spencer boys basketball past Abbotsford

SPENCER – Sam Bezlyk hit two free throws with five seconds to go to give the Spencer boys basketball team a 55-54 win over Abbotsford in a nonconference matchup Thursday night at Spencer High School.

Bezlyk had a monster double-double, finishing with 19 points and 21 rebounds to pace the Rockets, who ended a three-game losing streak.

Davide Chemello added 11 points and Breckin Miller chipped in 10 as each hit three 3-pointers for Spencer, which connected on 10 long balls overall.

Irvin Aguilera had 12 points for Abbotsford (2-6).

Spencer (2-5) jumps right back into action Friday night as it plays a Cloverbelt Conference East Division game at Colby starting at 7:15 p.m.
