Loyal knocks off Stratford girls basketball

STRATFORD – Stratford could not overcome a double-digit halftime deficit and dropped a 37-30 decision to Loyal in a nonconference girls basketball game Monday night at Stratford High School.

Loyal (5-2) led 18-7 at halftime and were able to hold on in the second half as the Tigers couldn’t get their shooting woes corrected. Stratford finished 11-for-51 from the field in the loss and falls to 5-3 this season.

Tria Tubbs had eight points to lead the Tigers.

Stratford plays a nonconference game at Crandon on Tuesday.
