Auburndale girls basketball drops home game to undefeated Lena

AUBURNDALE – The Auburndale girls basketball team fell behind by double digits in the first half and couldn’t recover, losing 52-41 to undefeated Lena in a nonconference game Friday afternoon at Auburndale High School.

Lena (11-0) raced out to a 29-13 lead by halftime and the Eagles couldn’t make much of a dent in the deficit as they lost their second-straight game and fall to 7-2 this season.

Lily Bellanti scored all 13 of her points in the second half to lead Auburndale.

Auburndale plays another nonconference game on Tuesday at Bonduel.
