Kimberly sends Marshfield girls basketball to third-straight loss

MARSHFIELD – The Marshfield girls basketball team suffered its third-straight loss, falling at home to Kimberly 53-30 in a nonconference matchup Saturday night at Marshfield High School.

The Tigers (8-4) shot just 18 percent from the field (10-for-54) and made only 3 of 16 3-point attempts in the loss.

Ashley Grancorvitz scored nine points to lead Marshfield.

Kimberly, ranked No. 5 in the latest Wissports.net Division 1 state coaches poll, improves to 11-2. Statistics were not provided.

Marshfield plays at Stevens Point on Tuesday in a battle of 4-0 Wisconsin Valley Conference teams. The game begins at 6 p.m., with a matchup between the boys teams, who are also tied for first in the Valley, following at approximately 7:45 p.m.
