Spencer boys basketball hammers Greenwood, picks up first Cloverbelt East victory

SPENCER – Spencer put up 41 points in the first half to open up a big lead and went on to defeat Greenwood 71-30 in a Cloverbelt Conference East Division game Friday night at Spencer High School.

The Rockets bolted out to a 41-16 lead by halftime and were able to finish off winless Greenwood to grab their first Cloverbelt East win of the season.

Jack Bezlyk had 21 points and 15 rebounds for Spencer, which is now 4-7 overall and 1-4 in the Cloverbelt East. Greenwood drops to 0-9 overall and 0-5 in the conference.

Mathers McHone added 12 points, and Noah Anderson and Breckin Miller each had 10 points in the win for Spencer.

Spencer’s next game is Thursday at Gilman.
