Marshfield boys basketball drains 20 3-pointers, outlasts Brookfield Central

MARSHFIELD – Offense was on full display Saturday afternoon at the Fredrick Construction Fieldhouse at Marshfield High School.

Marshfield made 20 3-pointers and scored a season-high in points as it held off Brookfield Central 88-80 in a nonconference matchup.

Marshfield junior guard Brooks Hinson accounted for eight of the Tigers’ 20 3-pointers and scored a season-high 34 points in the victory as the Tigers improve to 11-1 this season.

Chris Pohl added 21 points with four 3-pointers, and Landon Lee drained five shots from long range added 20 points for the Tigers.

Jack Daughtery poured in a game-high 39 points for Brookfield Central (4-6), making seven 3-pointers.

Marshfield is back in action Tuesday at Stevens Point as part of a girls-boys doubleheader. Both teams come into the contest tied for first in the Wisconsin Valley Conference at 3-0 and the Panthers are 12-0 overall. The girls game starts at 6 p.m., with the boys to follow at approximately 7:45 p.m.
