Columbus Catholic boys basketball pulls away late to down Regis

MARSHFIELD – The Marshfield Columbus Catholic boys basketball team dominated the second half to pull away for a 71-58 nonconference win over Eau Claire Regis on Tuesday at Columbus Catholic High School.

The Dons led 32-31 at halftime before opening up a double-digit lead late to earn their third-straight win and improve to 11-1 this season.

Senior Emmitt Konieczny returned to action since suffering injuries in a car crash in early December and scored a team-high 18 points for the Dons. Charlie Moore added 13 points and Blake Jakobi chipped in 12 in the win.

Blake Risler had a game-high 23 points for Regis (4-8).

Columbus Catholic will play at Greenwood on Thursday.
