Reissmann’s goal in overtime gives Marshfield boys hockey a win over Tomahawk

MARSHFIELD – Joey Cashmer scored 6:08 into overtime to lift the Marshfield boys hockey team to a come-from-behind 4-3 win over Tomahawk in a nonconference game Saturday afternoon at Marshfield Area Ice Arena.

Marshfield came back from one-goal deficits on three occasions, the last when Tyler Reissmann scored with 54 seconds left in regulation to force overtime.

Reed Gieseking made 43 saves in goal for the Tigers, who were outshot 46-20 but found a way to gut out the win.

Joey Cashmer scored Marshfield’s first goal in the second period and Reissmann tied the game at 2-2 off an assist from Cashmer with 8:49 to go in the third. After a goal by Sawyer Hanna for the Hatchets (11-7), Reissmann knotted it up in the final minute.

Marshfield (9-12) is back in action Thursday at D.C. Everest.
