Marshfield girls basketball pounds D.C. Everest for eighth-straight WVC win

MARSHFIELD – The Marshfield girls basketball team asserted its dominance early, plowing out to a 30-point lead by halftime and rolled to a 70-18 win over D.C. Everest in a Wisconsin Valley Conference game Friday night at Marshfield High School.

Ashley Grancorvitz scored 17 points and McKenzie Holm went 5-for-5 from 3-point range for all 15 of her points as the Tigers (12-6 overall) stayed unbeaten in the Wisconsin Valley Conference at 8-0.

Marshfield shot 11-for-15 from 3-point range and 55 percent overall in the home win, setting up a big battle on Monday night at Stevens Point (12-6, 7-0 Wisconsin Valley Conference) for first place in the conference standings.

Zaida Kolbeck knocked in 11 points and Hailey Klumb nine as well for the Tigers.

The girls game at Stevens Point begins at 6 p.m. with a battle for first place in the boys standings between Marshfield and Stevens Point following at approximately 7:45 p.m.
