Marshfield boys basketball pulls past Wisconsin Rapids, extends win streak to 12

WISCONSIN RAPIDS – The Marshfield boys basketball team won its 12th-straight game and second in two nights as it pulled past Wisconsin Rapids 64-44 on Tuesday at Lincoln High School.

Following a tightly-contested four-point win at Stevens Point on Monday, the Tigers fought to a 31-27 lead by halftime and eventually pulled away in the second half, holding Wisconsin Rpids to 17 points over the final 18 minutes.

Valin Ramberg scored 15 points, the first time he reached double figures this season, to lead Marshfield (17-1, 8-0 Wisconsin Valley Conference). Chris Pohl added 14, Landon Lee 11 and Ethan Knecht 10 in the win for the Tigers, who are ranked No. 6 in this week’s Wissports.net Division 1 state coaches poll.

Brody Gilbertson topped Wisconsin Rapids (6-11, 2-5 WVC) with 16 points.
