MADISON – The 2012 WIAA State Football Championships wrapped up Friday with three more title games.

Hartland Arrowhead capped off the seven championship games with a 35-14 win over Sun Prairie to win the Division 1 title and finish undefeated at 13-0. The state title is Arrowhead’s fifth (1993, 1994, 1996, 2007).

In Division 2, Mequon Homestead won its fourth state championship (1999, 2006, 2008) by taking down three-time defending champion Wauankee 14-0. Homestead snapped Waunakee’s 48-game win streak.

Waukesha Catholic Memorial rolled past Waupaca 42-7 to win the Division 3 championship to capture its first WIAA football title.

Fond du Lac St. Mary’s Springs repeated as the Division 6 champion with a 25-14 win over Eau Claire Regis on Thursday.

Springs finishes the season 13-0 as it won its fourth Division 6 state title to go along with ones in 2002, 2009 and last year.

Amherst toppled Lancaster 19-7 to cap off an undefeated season in the Division 5 championship. Lancaster finished second for the second year in a row. It is Amherst’s first state championship.

In Division 7, Glenwood City beat Potosi 46-21 to finish the season with an 11-2 record. Potosi ends up 12-1. Glenwood City won its third title (1985, 1997).

Somerset, which lost the Division 4 finals last year, returned and won its second state championship, outlasting Big Foot 35-33 in overtime. Somerset also won the Division 5 title in 2002.
