Marshfield Junior Legion sweeps two on the road at Wisconsin Rapids

WISCONSIN RAPIDS – The Marshfield Junior American Legion baseball team swept a doubleheader from Wisconsin Rapids on Tuesday, winning 9-1 and 12-9.

The Blue Demons (7-6-1) got a solid pitching performance from Sam Klein in the opener. Klein went six innings, striking out five.

Jack Donahue had two doubles and three RBIs, and Cameron Swanson was 2-for-4 for Marshfield.

Swanson earned the win in the second game, with Donahue pitching the final 2 1/3 innings to save it for the Blue Demons.

Trevor Schwecke had four hits and Klein and Matt Meyer each had two hits for Marshfield.

Marshfield is off until Friday when it plays at Pittsville.
