Marshfield volleyball wraps up regular season with sweep of D.C. Everest

WESTON – The Marshfield volleyball team, playing without top hitter Courtney Bauer who was out due to illness, swept D.C. Everest anyway in its regular-season finale Thursday at D.C. Everest High School.

The Tigers won 25-22, 29-27, 25-18, to end the Wisconsin Valley Conference season with a 9-3 record and finish second in the standings behind Wausau East.

Miranda Forrest had 11 kills and 14 digs, Darian Molter had a team-high 26 digs, and Anna Ripp had 14 assists to lead the Tigers.

Stephanie Rhodes added seven digs, Sara Dasler chipped in with 10 assists and Molter and Chelsea Akin each had three service aces for Marshfield.

Marshfield is the No. 4 seed in Sectional No. 1 of the WIAA Division 1 volleyball playoffs and will host No. 13 Rhinelander in a regional semifinal on Thursday, Oct. 24, at 7 p.m.
