Auburndale girls basketball takes care of Prentice in Marawood crossover

AUBURNDALE – The Auburndale girls basketball team wrapped up its regular-season schedule with a solid 50-33 win over Prentice in the fourth-place game of the Marawood Conference North-South crossovers Thursday night at Auburndale High School.

Auburndale (13-9) jumped out to a 10-2 lead after the first quarter and led 28-8 at halftime on its way to the 17-point victory.

Taylor Gotz scored 15 points and 11 rebounds, and Shannon Yahnke added 10 points for the Apaches.

Auburndale will host Wabeno/Laona in a WIAA Division 4 regional quarterfinal on Tuesday.
